Ben Nevis After the Rain

After my initial feeling of being completely awestruck on my first visit to Ben Nevis, after a few hours of being there my thoughts and feelings wondered and over powered its majestic presence. Ben Nevis became a magnificent background in which to project my ‘minds landscape’  It was only with an intense swatch of light and sweep of cloud that my attention was drawn back to Nevis.

My intention with the painting was to capture something of the empty composition  after an event, in this case after the rain, I wanted to try to give the viewer some space to project their thoughts and feelings onto as well of course to make a ‘good’ painting of Ben Nevis.
