This oil on canvas is based on a location series made in January 2009.  ‘White Horses Chasing Away Black Dog’ was the first major work of 2009, its powerful presence matched by its epic scale puts the audience in the scene, while its strong wave charges towards us.  An optimistic sky and intricate brush work towards the foreground leads the viewer in and out and around it's 120 layers of thin oil paint.

This sea painting will make you feel good, of course a white horse will always chase away ‘The Black dog’.
