Mount Snowdon looms ahead, it's big dark majestic presence surrounded by stubbly grass, and a dip in the foreground allows the rain and mountain water to collect, which in turn reflects part of Snowdon.  Using layering and a varnish based on a 17th century recipe my intentions were quite clear, 1. Make a really good mountain painting and 2. Reflect my own thoughts and feelings about Snowdon within the very surface of the composition.
